Jobs in Russia. (Earnings and Costs)

How many Russian Jobs cost? Do you know what the official salary president of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is? I know, it's $2,000 a month. An ordinary charwoman gets $ 20 a month, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Jobs in Russia. (Earnings and Costs)

The minimum wage proclaimed and established by the Russian government in December 2002 is 450 rubles (i.e. about $14) a month against 350 rubles ($9) established before. In Russia it is difficult to find the job, therefore many are compelled to work and receive such ridiculous salary.

Do you know how to survive getting $14 a month? You don't? Then ask Russian government about it, they might know. In Russia there is one more sum - it is so-called "subsistence minimum", which is 1,658 rubles ($ 50) for employable people, 1,163 rubles ($ 36) for pensioners, and 1,514 rubles ($47) for kids.

And now a little about other Russian Jobs and earnings. In Russia the biggest salaries are, certainly, got in Moscow and St.-Petersburg, where there is a lot of private enterprises, and where people, normally, count their incomes and expenditures in dollars, unofficially, of cause. But to find highly paid jobs in Moscow or St.-Petersburg difficultly as these cities are filled with migrants from other cities of Russia and former republics USSR. A secretary gets $200-400 a month, and a charwoman working for a private firm - $100-200, a builder gets $700-800, a medicine worker and a lawyer depending on their specialization - $1,000 and more, minimum earning of realty and transport sellers is $ 2,000 a month.

And now I'll tell you about "Russian state jobs" - people, who work for the state.
These are militiamen, doctors, teachers and other civil servants. An ordinary Russian militiaman gets (with all the bonuses) $ 100-200 a month, the one who is in higher ranks - $ 400.
In Russia teachers are treated worse; their salaries are $ 30-100. Probably, government supposes that Russian children are so smart that they do not need teachers.

In the area of medicine the situation is almost the same. A hospital nurse gets $20-80 ($ 80 only if she is highly experienced one). A doctor's salary averages $ 100 a month.

You may think that in such State institutions there is always shortage of employees and jobs are not claimed, but it isn't so, for this is nothing else but Russia…

For example, if one wants to work as a militiaman, he needs a wide networking. Some Militia's services of Russia, such as sales controlling service, get quite good money from his wards, so good, that one can buy an apartment (a minimum cost of one-room apartment in Moscow is some $40,000, in a province of Russia from $10000) or a car. Other servicemen have to deal with economical crimes, but it's better for me to tell you nothing about their unofficial salaries.
Doctors and nurses are also to adjust themselves to such life. For example, imagine a casualty ward of a hospital, where 30 persons are working (really), and 40 persons are reckoned. So, 10 of them do not work but only get their salaries.

Of course, some money is spent for buying stationery, as it's the eternal problem of state organizations in Russia(the state certainly gives some money for this, but nobody has ever seen it), and the other part of the money is the manager's money. I know what to do with my money - what I want … And thankful patients also give money: to the nurse so that she would not inject medical alcohol instead of glucose in a vein by mistake, and to some other people too. Though, I believe that they won't inject alcohol as they are very particular about it, because they use it not as it should be used - they simply drink it!

And now I'll tell you something about the north of Russia. It's a place for those, who search for big money, heavy job and are not afraid of difficulties.

The north of Russia is ever frozen lands, snow, cold winds and low temperatures (up to -500C in winter). And in summer - dirt, swarms of midges, swamps and mosquitoes as big as a fist. Many people are not able to stand it. The night lasts for half a year, and so does the day, which is horrible. The main type of vehicles are trucks (that were produced for military needs), different cross-country vehicles and jeeps (our, Russian), since not all foreign makes of jeeps can endure those roads and temperatures Russian's north.

Is it worth while? By the way, you can get there only by a plane. Let's ponder over it. Russian Jobs and salaries: We'll start again with militia (as they earn lesser money). So, an ordinary militiaman gets from $ 400 a month, builders - $ 1,000-2,000 or more, oil and gas industry workers get some $ 1,500-2,000.
Certainly to global measures it is not enough, but for Russia it is very good jobs.

Probably, it is worth while. But not everybody is allowed to go to the north of Russia. A lot of Russian's northern cities are considered 'closed', which means that if you have no special invitation, you can't even buy a ticket. Why those cities are 'closed' I'll tell you in my rubric Cities of Russia.

And now some costs 'for the dessert'.
