Army life and punishments in Russia.
If a “Ded” (or “Deds”) enters a “Spirits” room and gives a command “Get the crocodiles dried!” all the “Spirits” are to climb up to the beds with their hands on the railings from one side of the bed, and their legs - on the railings from the other side (it looks like a bridge).

In the Russian army, among soldiers there are various rules. When 100 days remain until the “Deds’” demobilization, the “Spectres ” are to cut a long white ribbon of cloth, rule it by a pen by narrow cross strips, and number all obtained zones from 0 up to 100. There must be two such ribbons – one is to be hanged in a secluded nook in “Spectres’ ” bedroom, the other – in “Deds’ ” and “Craniums’ ” bedroom.

This story occurred to me while I was in services in the Russian Army in the year of 1995 in Ukraine, in the environs of Kiev. The barracks of the training division were built in 1939 - when nobody in the Russian Army, probably, heard about w.c. pans and canalization. In times near to ours some repairs were made - toilets and washstands were added. As the buildings weren't intended for these installations, canalization pipes of the upper stores going from the "tolchocks" were installed (hanged up) at the ceilings of the lower stories (just like at our railway station buildings).

This is the next sea-army fable, which was told to me during a party. In distant regions, in a submarine, a commander was in services, and he liked to spend some time shooting. Even going for a trip, he took a rifle with him. What of it! If they surfaced near land, and the commander saw game from the captain's bridge, he always aimed to shoot it.
